Hogwarts House Wheel

The Hogwarts House Wheel is a free random house sorter that places you in Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin with one spin.

Spin the wheel to be sorted at random, with each of the four houses taking a quarter of the wheel. It works for one person or a whole group, with everyone taking a turn.

To sort a group into even houses, add each house several times and turn on Remove the winner automatically in Settings. Each pick is then taken off the wheel until every place is filled.

Ways to Use the Hogwarts House Wheel

  • Themed Parties

Sort guests into houses as they arrive and play house games through the night.

  • Classroom Teams

Split a class into four teams for a reading unit or a quiz.

  • Book Clubs

Assign each member a house before discussing the books.

  • Movie Marathons

Sort the group before the first film and keep house points.

House Wheel vs. a Sorting Quiz

A sorting quiz takes a few minutes and tends to give people the house they were hoping for. The wheel takes seconds and makes the result a surprise, which works better for parties and large groups.

How to Use the Hogwarts House Wheel

  1. Spin

Click the wheel or the Spin button at its center, or press Ctrl + Enter.

  2. Watch It Land

The wheel ticks past each slice and slows down. Whatever stops under the pointer lights up as the result.

  3. Keep It or Remove It

Keep the result, or press Remove so it cannot come up again.

  4. Go Again

Spin as often as you like. The Results tab lists every result.
